Scuba certification consists of 3 parts:
- Classroom Instruction
- Pool Training
- Open Water Dives
Between our convenient weekend program and Weaver’s 5 star private SCUBA instruction — our fun and friendly classes can fit into any schedule. Our programs allow students the time needed to assimilate the information between sessions. We won’t rush you through! Upon completion of the classroom and pool training, you have 1 year to complete 4 Open Water Dives under the supervision of an instructor (anywhere in the world). Boulder Weekend Program
Our weekend program is perfect for those who are so excited to dive, they just can’t wait! An orientation session will be held at the dive center from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on the Thursday evening preceding the class. At this meeting we will go over all the logistics of the class, fit students in gear, practice gear set-up and start you on the path to becoming a scuba diver. Your training continues on a Saturday morning with your first pool session. Please be at the South Boulder Recreation Center at 9:00am ready for fun. This will be a pool session, so bring your bathing suit, towel, mask, fins and snorkel. The pool session will run until 1:00pm, and after an hour break, we will meet back at the dive center for the classroom session from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Sunday schedule: pool session at South Boulder Rec. Center from 9:30am to 1:00pm, then classroom session from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Students must have read the first 3 chapters in the manual, completed the corresponding Knowledge Reviews, viewed the first 3 modules on the DVD, and completed the student record file prior to starting class on Saturday. The remaining two chapters and Knowledge Reviews are to be completed by Sunday. Student materials MUST be picked up at least a week prior to starting the class. Students that have not completed the required reading my be subject to an additional charge for private sessions.

2017 Weekend Class Dates:
Private Instruction allows for the ultimate in flexibility by letting you design your own schedule. Working one-on-one with an instructor, you cover the same material as you would during the weekend program but at your own pace! Lectures and pool times are arranged to fit your schedule and suit your needs. We can start your class immediately!

*The student kit is priced separately. Included in each kit is the manual, log book, student record file, and course DVD. Each student is required to have his or her own manual and log book. A buddy kit is available for those able to share the DVD; the buddy kit includes the manual, log book, and student record file and costs $59. This allows couples or families with children to share the DVD and save a few dollars. Course tuition includes professional instruction, all SCUBA equipment (tanks, weights, weight belts, BCs, and regulators) as well as a wetsuit for pool use. Open Water Certification Dives:
Weaver’s offers local Open Water training dives in a variety of locations, depending on the season. From late June until September, Open Water Dives are conducted at The Weaver’s Quarry, our private Quarry. From October until early June, we offer training dives at the Blue Hole located in Santa Rosa, New Mexico and Homestead Crater located in Heber City, Utah. Both locations are an easy drive from Boulder. Homestead Crater – $250.00 A natural hot spring protected from the elements by a natural dome, the water temperature rages from 96-98 degrees. You may want to consider combining the trip with a visit to Park City a short 30 to 40 minute drive from Heber City. This is great place to complete your Open Water training during the colder months! Hotel accommodations may be booked through Weaver’s. Blue Hole – $250.00 The Blue Hole in Santa Rosa, NM is just a six hour drive from Boulder. It is a natural outdoor spring providing a great opportunity for local diving at altitude. The visibility in the Blue Hole is unbeatable, crystal clear water, perfect for open water training. The Private Weaver Quarry is located at I-70 and Wadsworth, it is an easy drive from Boulder with easy access to the water. It is very convenient and very calm easy diving.

Weaver’s Escorted Group Trips
Open Water Certifications are available on any of Weaver’s monthly Group Trips! Why not complete your certification in paradise and meet other divers like you? This option includes the fees for all four Open Water dives, tanks, and weights. Discount rates are available for students needing to rent gear. All students will need to purchase a Picture Identification Card ($32.00). This kit will include all the necessary paperwork to complete your Open Water dives, and will also include the certification fee.

Many times our schedules get so busy, we wish we could extend our day. You can do just that with PADI eLearning. PADI offers a 1st class eLearning option to fit your schedule. eLearning replaces the Instructor-led classroom portion of our standard Open Water Weekend. You can register and start your training on-line by clicking on the e-Learning box above. The cost is $169.00, which includes unlimited access to the course materials and all knowledge reviews, quizzes, and the final exam. To complete the course, call the store and schedule a review session and the confined water training (2 pool sessions of 3.5 hours each). The cost for the review and pool sessions, if scheduled during our regular class times, is $160.00 per person. If you need to schedule during times other than our regular sessions, the cost is $280 for one person and $180 for 2 or more people. The eLearning crew pak contains a student record file, a log book, and a recreational dive planner. The cost for the crew pack is $54.85 and is required for all e-Learning students. As with all scuba certification programs, 4 open water dives are required to become a certified diver. Open water dives can be scheduled a number of ways, either locally or on a trip.
