Little Cayman March 24 – 31, 2013

Our spring break trip this year was to one of my favorite Caribbean islands, Little Cayman. We had a wonderful group with some great diving. We saw pipe horses on most dives, very unusual for the caribbean. And our dive master Craig pointed out something I had never seen before, a painted elysia. This is a sea slug but it looks like a nudibranch, very cool. We had lots of young folks on this trip many of which were divers. Sean Costello and Jimmy Bohn completed their advanced certification, congratulations to them both. Two of our non-diving group participants were Luca and Angie Bohn, these active seven year olds had a ball. Angie was literally a mermaid, spending all of her time in the pool and Luca discovered the ring toss game and set a new resort record with 200 successful hooks!
My group paid me a great honor by composing a song for me to be performed at Karaoke night. Following are the lyrics and the music was “I will survive.”

 

 

AT FIRST WHEN I DOVE I WAS TERRIFIED.

JUST TURN AROUND NOW

‘CAUSE YOU THOUGHT ME HOW TO FLOAT.

WEREN’T YOU THE ONE, WHO TRIED TO SELL ME LOTS OF GEAR?

YOU THINK I’D CRUMBLE?

YOU THINK I’D JUMP RIGHT OFF A PIER?

OH NO NOT I

I SCUBA DIVE.

AS LONG AS I KNOW HOW TO BREATH

I KNOW I’LL STAY ALIVE

I’VE GOT ALL MY LIVE TO LIVE AND

I’VE GOT ALL MY DOUGH TO GIVE

GIVE IT TO STEVE

GIVE IT ALL TO THE WEAVE

IT TOOK ALL MY STRENGTH NOT TO HOLD MY BREATH

JUST TRYING HARD TO RESPIRATE AND AVOID CERTAIN DEATH

I SPENT SO MANY DOLLARS BUYING ALL THE LATEST GEAR

I USED TO CRY BUT NOW I HOLD MY FINS UP HIGH
