Another Colorado Scuba Bash is in the history books, and this year’s fun filled adventure to Bonaire didn’t disappoint. We spent the week diving at the recently remodeled Flamingo Divi Resort. Those of you who have stayed at Divi over the years, will be pleasantly surprised at numerous upgrades that have gone into the rooms, restaurants, pool area, resort grounds, and the dive shop. Clear sunny skies and calm seas greeted or group of divers each morning, and our favorite Dive-Masters Orlando and Endro took us to all the best sites Bonaire has to offer including my personal favorites, The Salt Pier, Repel, and the sites at Klein Bonaire. My group of enthusiastic divers also requested two night dives, which I was more than happy to lead on the Calabas House Reef, where we saw the normal denizens of the night and were buzzed by the Tarpon that feed using the illumination from the divers’ flashlights. On our last day, guests enjoyed a land tour of the island, taking in the numerous interesting and scenic must see spots that Bonaire has to offer. We ended the week with a group dinner out at everyone’s favorite Italian restaurant Capricio’s, where we enjoyed our final meal together and toasted to a great week of diving and future trips to come!
